So I weighed in on Thursday for the first time this year and I gained 6 pounds.....yes that's right 6!! I wasn't at all surprised and I took the news quite well.....I laughed......well what else was I going to do. I already knew I had gained because I ate whatever I liked while on the holiday break and that always has consequences.
The good thing about gaining weigh is that I am determined to stick to my new goals in an effort to make this year one of achievement.
For me the main high highlights of this week have been when I've made a good decision when I could have easily slipped back into old habits. Like when we had a bomb evacuation on Thursday and were told to have an early lunch will we waited to see what happened with the building. Instead of ordering the usual jacket potatoe with lashings of cheese and fatty bacon, I ordered a ham omelette with a side salad. I also ordered a herbal tea instead a hot chocolate.
On Friday the team at work decided we should all go out for lunch for a collegues birthday so I ordered something similar to a special fried rice and had a diet coke as well. In the afternoon when all the cakes were sitting there calling me, I resisted however I decided to take a piece of one of the cakes home for desert as it was left over, which meant that I could count the points and weigh my portion properly.
Then today a friend taken me into have McD's for breakfast which I had and enjoyed however instead of having the planned roast for dinner tonight, I had a lovely home made pumpkin soup instead with a bread roll........so I'm so still within my points for the day......yeh!!!!
So far so good, now let's hope I can be good for the rest of the week!
