New week, new effort........

I had another pitiful week last week where I was kidding myself about what and how much I was eating......to the tune of an extra 40 points. No wonder I gained half a pound.

However, I'm back on track and although I enjoyed myself on Sunday for Father's Day I am now making smoothies and salads and really sticking to it with a positive frame of mind. I'm even off to Yoga again tonight!

I was having a bad afternoon with cravings for chocolate, but a friend gave me a banana and I log onto the WW website for support and I had some more water which all helped.

Now let's just wait and see if all the effort has paid off.....

Going AWOL.....

Well, I am finally back in the land of the living.

I disappeared for a number of reasons which are all the usual suspects.....stressed, being over tired, sick, problems at home and/or work. I really went off the tracks there for a while in terms of eating and lack of exercise. I even slipped with my 'Rules' which was not good!!

But here I am, back on track and back on blogging. I'm in a good place at the moment, although I'll be honest....not in a perfect place, but then again who ever is?!

I was very sick there for a while and went completely off track......boy doesn't it show by the ups and downs on the scales!! Even though I continued to attend WW meetings, my heart really wasn't in it. However, that has all changed (again) and I'm back to writing everything down in my diary, exercising regularly, staying for the WW meeting with a positive attitude and I owe all this to my new exercise buddy Di. Without Di's help over the last two weeks, I would still be struggling to get back on track.

It all came to a head about three weeks ago when I gained another 2 1/2 pounds! So I decided then and there that I had to make a fresh start. Over the coming week, I was meant to be staying at my friend Emma's house to look after her cat, Molly. Thankfully Emma never has any food in her house, so I went shopping on a full stomach and bought lots of healthy fruits and veg.

I also agreed with my WW leader that I had to write in my diary, otherwise I would do sit ups in front of th whole class.......needless to say, I wrote in my diary.

The following week (after another slight gain) Di and I agreed to meet up for some friendly exercise. We agreed to start off with swimming on Saturday morning, which turned into cycling on Sunday afternoon, which turned into a Yoga class on Tuesday evening.

It worked out well for both of us as Di lost a pound and a half both weeks and I lost five and a half pounds the first week and another two pounds the second week.

Unfortunately I am sick again this week and have not been eating properly nor exercising regularly......so I'll have to let you know how I go on Thursday's weigh in. But in the meantime, I'm writing down my food intake into my diary and when I'm not feeling too bad, I have been doing some light exercise like walking or cycling.

What a stressful day....

Started this morning off fighting with new BF. He's a grumpy sod at the best of time first thing in the morning, but this morning was particularly bad and he was really hurtful. I defended myself, however I still didn't feel any better afterwards. So I proceeded to get ready for work and then I just left his house.....no goodbye, no kiss, nothing!

The ironic thing is.....I'm only hurting myself because I'm the sort of person who likes things to be harmonious.

Cutting a long story short the boy and I have had many text messages over the course of the day and it seems that we've opened up to each other more than I was expecting. We've agreed that he will try to be more open with his feelings and I will point it out when he's not. However, I still have to make the ultimate decision whether I can put up with his grumpy moods first thing in the morning.......but for now, all I can say is that I'm really glad that I don't live with him.

Now the really good thing that I'm happy about, it that even though I was really sad and upset this morning, I didn't eat comfort food although it did cross my mind at one point. I had an apple early on and a roll for lunch and have been sipping on my water through out the day! I am quite pleased with myself.

I was sick but.....

I still lost 5 pounds!

My friends and I had a lovely long weekend away in France, however when we returned on Sunday we all fell ill.

The cramping and running to the bathroom started in the wee hours of Monday morning and I obviously called in sick to work. I didn't have anything to eat or drink for the remainder of the day and have only been able to eat boring bread, potatoes and a little water. I'm back to work now however I'm drained by the end of the day and fall into bed quite early.

However before all of this occurred, I had continued on spiral downwards. I still wasn't in the best frame of mind.....I wasn't writting in my diary or drinking my water allocation etc. Although, my eating was starting to get better and I had made sure that I didn't go over board whilst away in France and I also walked quite a bit! On Friday, I walked over 18k steps just seeing some sights and then another 13K steps again on Saturday whilst shopping with my girlfriends.....who says shopping is not good for you!

It's a miracle.....

I actually lost 4 pounds this week!! Please don't ask me how I did it cause I couldn't give an answer?!

I went to my temporary wi meeting and I was absolutely surprised to see the scales read 19.1 stone.....I thought it must have been wrong and I made her check again.....but alas it was correct!

The reasons why I didn't think I would loose any weight this week are......

  • Have been eating bread and loads of butter
  • Have allowed myself deserts in the evening or cake
  • Have not done any form of deliberate exercise other than the normal daily working
  • Haven't really drunk 2ltrs of water each and EVERY day and very little on the weekend
  • Have been over eating most days
  • Have been 'emotional' eating
  • Haven't been writing down what I eat in my diary

But on the positive side, I have also been......

  • Not eating chocolate since the new year
  • Drinking up to a litre and a half most days and 2 ltrs one day
  • Being aware and not eating as much as I have in the past
  • Speaking out or emailing my friends about my emotional state instead of eating

I'm feeling miserable......

and I don't know why! I think this has been a long time coming! Happiness can't last for ever with me.

I've been on cloud nine for the past couple of weeks with new BF and now I've got to the point where I just don't know what I'm feeling anymore and I'm starting to doubt everything.

New BF and I had a chat last night, or should I say, I was chatted to about the current circumstance we're currently in.

I have been house sitting for the past couple of weeks and new BF has joined me on occassion, however last night the conversation turned to 'how are we going to see each other when I move back to my house'.....I live quite a distance away you see over an hour and a half travel time. Anyway, BF said that we did the whole 'living together thing' a bit too early in our relationship, when really we should have been enjoying each others company occassionally i.e. dates. But instead, we've got to know each other little habits a little too soon.

But for me I felt the complete opposite, I have enjoyed our time together very much and I was under the impression that we were becoming closer, but yet BF tells me last night that he needs his space and he's looking forward to going back to the way things were so that he can do his own thing i.e. his hobbies and friends.

Even though the rational side of me says to enjoy my time left with him, the other heart breaking side of me tells me to push him away as I can't deal or don't want to deal with the idea of rejection. If I'm truly honest, I want to be the centre of attention in a new relationship and I've started to notice that the emails have slowed down - stopped, the night time phone calls when we were apart have become shorter and he's not as attentive as I had hoped.

So what do I do now......my head is just circling for an answer, but I somehow think I won't get one and I'll just have to ride this one out. Let's just hope I don't stuff it all up by shutting him out altogether....I have already turned my phone to silent so I don't take his calls, so I think it's just a slippery slide down hill from here.

What is going on...

I have just come home tonight and eaten every thing in sight. I already know I'm bored and tired and lonely, but yet I don't or can't seem to help myself.

In fact it's been a slow progression to this point all week. The other day, I had three pieces of cake, albeit small pieces, but three all the same. What is going on??? Why can't I be happy with myself and continue to loose the weight. Why do I do this to myself every so often??? I am after all, only hurting myself.
